FELICITY THOUGHTS |
21ST OCTOBER, 2002 This is the first week Sydney viewers (I'm sorry I don't know if the rest of the Aussie states have finished the 4th season) will be without "Felicity". Too be honest I do feel sad about it because there was a show out there with some integrity (ok maybe not the time travel eps, but they were just different...we except them because it's "Felicity"!) I agree with my friend Roz that I see "The Graduation" as the true last episode as it gave us the real "Felicity" formula that we have been watching all these years. I would like to share my overall thoughts about the 4th season so if they seem critical or just strange..bare with me!! * Based upon the previous 3 seasons, the character of Felicity would never cheat on Ben. If anyone remembers the drunken incident with Randy, she was devastated at the mere idea of cheating on Ben. So why would she then do it suddenly the next year? * Elena didn't get enough screen time this year, they just broke the engagement with Tracy and just added her as a complimentary piece to their apartment. Her death & return to life in the last 5 episodes were just silly and not explained properly especially about the latter |
* Noel was such a beautiful character on the show, I'm glad they showed some of the real emotions the character could have faced such as depression in regards to getting into the real world after college. However making him continously pine over Felicity was just annoying!! They made it like Felicity controlled his every action, and the truth of it is he was always a strong character to begin with, not too mention smart. I highly doubt that he would continue to go after a girl who rejected him for another guy, especially the fact that she followed him to New York!! * Ben would not have slept with Lauren, his character had matured a lot and he was completely in love with Felicity. She may have cheated on him but he wouldn't have just 'moved' on so fast especially since he was the one heartbroken. Further more the whole pregnancy storyline was ridiculous. long and completely done to get ratings. They should have just explored Ben and Felicity learning to trust each other again. Also why did they suddenly make Ben reduce the volume of his voice? I mean half the time he spent whispering to Felicity even when it was just them in the room!! * If Julie came back, wouldn't they have questions for her? I definitely do not think Sean would have broken up with Meghan so he try his luck with Julie again, they didn't even remember her after she was gone, so what could have inspired him to even fathom a chance with Julie especially considering she rejected him pretty badly the first time (remember the smart cookie incident with Noel?) * Another point that I agree with my friend Roz about is, what happened to Trevor? I mean I know the actor Christopher Gorham has another show but he suddenly disappeared, his relationship with Elena seemed to be going well or so we thought..... I honestly think that J.J Abrahms spent most of his time on "Alias" that "Felicity" lost its magic touch without him. I mean I loved the show no matter what but I think he neglected the show and then when it got the boot suddenly it's like 'oh shit what went wrong?' Yeah how about the entire direction?? The show gave us insight into a 17 year old's journey of love and hope for the future, we were introduced to her two soulmates and finding some real friendships. She finally realised the distinction that Ben was her love soulmate where Noel was her friendship soulmate, that she wanted to take a chance with her career and give into some of her passions rather than her parents ideals. We got to know the other characters in the show but more importantly we got to watch Felicity grow through them, her thoughts to Sally and Dr Pavone and through her experiences. So what happened in the end? She goes back in time! I'm sorry if my thoughts come across rather confusing (heheheh well that's just me in general) but what can ya do?! IMPORTANT NOTE To all the families in Australia and Bali who's family member/s perished in the bombing on the 12th October, I profess my deepest sympathy to you all. No person in there rightful mind should believe they have the power to dominate anybody, also to convey it through cold blooded murder. It doesn't justify a purpose it merely shows nothing but cruelty in the lowest of the low sense.World peace is not achieved through blood shed and political arrogance and unrealistic promises, it's to be socially literate. To name your fear only gives it more power, don't give up on the world and more importantly your well being. Take Care |
